Prospective students who take an Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam, International Baccalaureate (IB), and DSST exams and achieve the minimum score(s) outlined below are guaranteed to receive credit at any of the Transfer System’s participating postsecondary institutions.
Institutions are required to award credit for the minimum scores you see below, however there are many factors that affect how that credit is applied to your transcript. It may allow you to test out of a course (receive course equivalency credit) or it may count as generic credit towards a subject area requirement (e.g., 3 math credits). The credit you receive may be applied toward graduation as general education, elective, or major credit. The application will depend heavily on your choice of major, and how the credit is initially applied may change if you change majors. You are encouraged to speak to an advisor at your institution when selecting a program to understand how your exam credit will be applied

This is an ongoing process and the system will establish standards for all current AP, CLEP, International Baccalaureate (IB), and DSST exams. Exams discontinued prior to 2018 are not standardized. If an exam has been discontinued, or has not yet been reviewed, local institutional policies will determine any credit awarded.
