Equips non-engineering majors (e.g., geologists, geographers, field biologists, and archaeologists) with basic surveying skills including measurement of distances, horizontal angles, and vertical angles. Although not an engineering class, basic geometry skills will be required. Students will spend at least one third of class time collecting raw field data, drawing plans and sections, and learning how to input basic XY data into a geographic information system.
