• BLGY 298: Internship in Medical Imaging

  Offers an opportunity for students majoring in Medical Imaging to participate in a 120-hour internship in a hospital or clinical site. Students will explore the various modalities of medical imaging through hands on experience. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the medical imaging profession as they are mentored by various hospital personnel including medical imaging technologist, nurses, and physicians. Students will have many opportunities to demonstrate responsible citizenship as they interact with both patients and hospital personnel. An internship program open only to those students majoring in Medical Imaging.

  Provides an opportunity for students to apply knowledge and utilize skills from Biology 301 (Introduction to Health Care Practice) in a clinical setting. Biology 302 is a 400 hour clinical experience in which students will be integrated into a health care team and function as nursing assistants. Biology 302 is the second course in a two-course sequence and is to be completed during the summer immediately following enrollment in Biology 301. This is an elective for B.S. Health Sciences majors. Not offered every semester. Prerequisite:    BLGY301

  Presents the science of preserving biodiversity and sustaining the earth. The course draws on and synthesizes information from the fields of ecology, evolution, genetics, philosophy, economics, sociology and political science. Emphasis is placed on the development of strategies for preserving populations, species, biological communities and entire ecosystems in the face of growing human populations and their impact on the environment. The course brings scientific principles and theory to bear on problems of management for preserving the richness of life on earth. This course is an elective for Biology majors. Three hours of seminar per week. Not offered every semester. Prerequisite:    BLGY351
