  These courses are designed to address the many challenges an incoming student may face: social and academic skills development, the Lincoln tradition, the meaning of liberal arts, attending lectures, recitals, and convocations offered throughout the semester as basis for class discussions, library research/computer literacy, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. This course will be taken in the freshman year and monitored by an Advisory Committee based in the Sociology Department.

  This course is an interdisciplinary science course to prepare students to major and succeed in STEM. The course is designed to explore several themes in STEM to enable STEM students to begin thinking like scientists. Scientific writing, reading, problem-solving, project designs, critical thinking skills will be the focus of the course. Students will work in teams to design projects to solve problems using scientific methods. Students will work with mentors and advisors to plan their curriculum and other supportive activities.

Credit is not allowed for GSC 101-102 and for PHY 101-102 or PHY 103-104.
