  A review of the history and evolution of scene, costume, lighting, prop and sound design for the theatre. Course will also examine the evolution of theatre spaces, from the outdoor theatre of the Ancient Greeks to traveling wagon stages of the medieval period to modern architectural trends. The course will examine non-western forms of theatre such as aboriginal and African theatre as well as western world theatre traditions.

  This course is designed to give each graduating BFA Acting student the opportunity to prepare for and perform in a showcase as a step towards establishing their professional career. The showcase will invite theatre professionals such as agents, producers, casting directors, and directors to attend and will be presented in a major metropolitan area and on campus. The course also builds on the foundational practices of working in professional theatre. Professional headshots will be required.
