This course is designed for students to study race and ethnic relationships from a local, nationaland global perspective. Students are provided with a brief historical overview of how ethnic groups have played a major role in shaping modern America and the world. Studentsexplore races and ethnic relations in the United States, Mexico, Spain, South and Central America, Caribbean, Middle East, Russia, Asiaand Africa. Maintenance of ethnic identity, the development of ethnic stereotypes and prejudiceand the quality of ethnic relations are examined.
