  In this course students explore the components and operation of aircraft systems including hydraulic, electrical, fuel, oil, pressurization, flight control, anti-icing and fire, as well as the interrelationship of directional guidance. Performance charts, weight and balance calculations and sections of aircraft operating manuals are addressed. Multiple engine systemsranging from basic piston engines to sophisticated jet propulsion and auxiliary power units are studied. In addition, students learn New Generation and analog avionics and navigation systems. Prerequisite:    AVT 101

  Minimum 60 flight hours In this course students develop the commercial pilot skills and completenecessary flight training and requisite stage exams in preparation to pass theFederal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot Practical Exam. Passing the FAA Commercial Pilot Practice Exam isrequired to obtain a Commercial Certificate and successfully complete the course. The course also provides instruction and flight experience including preflight/postflight briefings and the dual and solo flights necessary to complete the approved hours for the commercial pilot exam. The FAA requires aminimum of 60 flight hours in this course; however, the actual flight hours may vary based on student proficiency.A Second Class Medical Certificate is required to take this course.
