  • The AP English Literature and Composition course is designed to engage students in the careful reading and critical analysis of imaginative literature. Through the close reading of selected texts, students can deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure for their readers. As they read, students should consider a work's structure, style, and themes, as well as such smaller-scale elements as the use of figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and tone.

You may receive up to 3.00 credits at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania:

  • This course moves the student from writing basic papers to engaging in scholarly dialogue through critical thinking, reading, and writing. Students will develop evaluative, analytical, and rhetorical skills through focused discussions, presentations and a variety of research-based papers. The distance Learning version of HEN113 English II to be offered as an "On-line" course in which more than 80% of the instruction will be completed outside of the classroom.
