Topics include stoichiometry, atomic/molecular structure, bonding, states of matter, changes of state, and solutions. A quantitative study of each area is stressed; a strong background in chemistry and mathematics is required.

  • This course covers the basic principles of chemistry, including modern atomic structure and bonding, chemical equations, solubility and descriptive inorganic chemistry. Pre-Requisite: One year of HS Chemistry or equivalent. (Natural Science General Education Course). OR The distance Learning version of SCH111 General Chemistry I to be offered as an "On-line" course in which more than 80% of the instruction will be completed outside the classroom. Pre-Requisite: One year of HS Chemistry or equivalent).
