This lecture and laboratory course is a continuation of PHYS106. It is a non-calculus study of the fundamental laws and properties of electricity, magnetism, geometrical, and physical optics. This course places emphasis on the mathematical solution of problems based on an understanding of the underlying physical phenomena.

This course is a continuation of PHY 141. Students gain a basic understanding of the fundamental principles and applications of electricity, magnetism, light and modern physics using algebra and trigonometry. Laboratory activities reinforce the fundamental principles of physics and topics presented in the lecture section. Thiscourse is transferable to many four-year institutions.
