  • This course is primarily for liberal arts and education majors, and emphasizes mathematical systems and reasoning. Course content includes sets, symbolic logic, and elementary probability and such optional topics as basic statistics, game theory, or linear programming.

  • This course is designed for students in teacher education. It is intended to provide a thorough knowledge of the concepts of problem solving, set theory, number theory, and the theory of arithmetic. Completion of both MATH 182 and 183 with a grade of B or higher satisfies the Pennsylvania Department of Education Basic Skills test requirement for Mathematics for pre-service teaching candidates.
