    PennWest understands the financial burden of pursuing a college degree. That's why we're dedicated to making sure it's your most valuable investment. Each year, we award $19 million in scholarships to aid our students. In addition to need-based aid, transfer students are eligible for a scholarship of $1500-$2000 per year, based on their cumulative GPA from previous college(s) attended.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Most programs require a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.00
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, are required. High school transcripts required for students with less than 12 earned college credits, and all Nursing applicants.
  • SAT Scores:
    Test-optional
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Encouraged but not required
  • Essay:
    Encouraged but not required

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    D grades accepted, but some academic programs may require such courses to be repeated to earn a higher grade, particularly when required in the major.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no minimum number of credits required to transfer to PennWest. There is no maximum number of credits that will be accepted, with the exception of the graduation residency requirement: https://files.pennwest.edu/policies/ac033-grad-residency
