NPRC is a two-year, open admission college that provides various post-secondary education options to residents of ten counties in northern Pennsylvania. NPRC offers associate degrees and workforce development training courses that guide students to prosperous careers and foster economic growth throughout the region we serve. We create opportunities for those who may have never had the chance to sit in a college classroom before by only requiring a high school diploma or equivalent to apply. NPRC educates, inspires, and serves the region in a way that is unique to its needs.     NPRC accepts transfer students who submit all required admissions materials and works to ensure that the transition to NPRC is as seamless as possible.

    Credit for prior learning may be awarded to eligible students in a variety of circumstances including: successful completion of a nationally recognized exam, active industry credential or licensure, or military training.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    No minimum GPA is required for acceptance of transfer students.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer students wishing to transfer credits toward an NPRC degree are required to submit official transcripts to complete the transcript evaluation process.
  • SAT Scores:
    As an open admission college, NPRC does not require students to submit SAT, ACT, or other college entrance exam scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    NPRC does not require any letters of recommendation as a condition of admission.
  • Essay:
    NPRC does not require applicants to complete an essay as part of the admissions process as a condition of admission.
  • Application Fee:
    NPRC does not charge an application fee.
  • Interview:

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Any course with a grade of C or higher from any institution of higher learning for which an equivalent or related course exists at NPRC is eligible for consideration for the awarding of transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for completion of a certificate or degree through enrollment in NPRC coursework.

    17 percent of students graduating in the 2023-2024 Academic Year who responded to NPRC's Graduate Survey self-reported plans to transfer to four-year institutions following graduation.

Delivery Method:
The college operates in over 20 classroom locations. Community buildings assist NPRC in combining this in-person instruction with interactive technology that enables face-to-face learning. This combination enables us to meet students where they are.
