Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students must have a cumulative (from all schools attended) grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 (some majors have higher or additional requirements). See the KU transfer website for transfer admissions criteria of our higher-requirement majors, www.kutztown.edu/transfer.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official transcript is required from each institution attended even if you don't wish to have the credit considered for transfer. Transcripts must be sent from the Registrar's Office at your previous institution to KU Office of Admissions.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you satisfactorily completed a minimum of 12 college-level credits at an institution of higher learning, neither SAT nor ACT scores are required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Recommendations are not required.
  • Essay:
    Essays are not required.
  • Application Fee:
    $35.00
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not required.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Associates Degrees are not required to transfer to KU.
  • Other Requirements:
    Submit either an official copy of the high school transcript (showing graduation date) or a copy of your official GED transcript. Transcripts must be sent from the high school or Department of Education directly to KU Office of Admissions.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In most circumstances a minimum grade of "C-" is required for transfer consideration. Students with an Academic Passport may be able to transfer courses with grades of "D." See the FAQ section of www.kutztown.edu/transfer for additional details.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students with a minimum of 12 college-level credits will be evaluated based on their cumulative GPA from college coursework. Developmental or remedial courses do not count toward the 12 credits. KU does not have a maximum transfer credit limit.
