Dominant theories of children's social-emotional development, crises in children's lives, and developmentally appropriate responses will be introduced. Family communication and support, cultural competence, the importance of inclusive teaching practices and respect for diversity are central themes. Assignments require access to school-age child care programs. Also available through Online Learning.
