Allows school and community personnel or professionals to develop a foundation and skills in the area of teaching conflict resolution skills to students both in schools and other community settings. The course will introduce students to the concept of conflict resolution, identifying where and how conflicts develop and how to teach children the step-by-step process of resolving conflicts in constructive manner. Skill training will focus on communication both verbal and nonverbal, listening, negotiation, expressing feelings and understanding the feelings of others, problem solving, and assertiveness training. The course is designed for teachers, education majors, and other individuals who work with children and adolescents in the community.
