Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA for transferring to Cheyney is 2.0. Education majors must have earned a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.8.

    Students must submit an official transcript for all credits that they wish to transfer into Cheyney University.
  • SAT Scores:
    Transfer students who have completed at least 12 college credits are not required to take the SAT or ACT standardized tests.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letters of Recommendation are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    Submit a completed undergraduate admission application to the Office of Admissions along with a non-refundable $25 application fee.
  • Interview:
    There is no formal interview, but prospective students are expected to meet with an admission counselor, prior to admission. This meeting can either take place on campus or at one of our off-campus open houses.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    College-level courses with a grade of 'C' or better from accredited institutions will be considered for transfer credit. Courses with grades of 'C-' or 'D' may transfer under the guidelines of the BOG Student Transfer Policy.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Cheyney University does not have a maximum transfer credit limit. Although students must meet all University Graduation & Residency Requirements of their major.
