2-4-3 (Eff. FL20) This course introduces students to the theory, practice and techniques basic to the clinical aspects of working in a medical office. Students use critical thinking skills to incorporate cognitive knowledge in the performance of pschomotor and affective learning domains during the practice of: infection control, medical and surgical asepsis, obtaining vitals, patient histories, medical records documentation, patient preparation, and assisting the physician in general and specialty examinations. Prereqs: (Eff. FL20) AH 103 and BIOL 108 with a C or better, both of which may be taken concurrently.
