  This course allows individual pursuit in depth of a subject in English not covered within a regularly offered graduate course in English. Students in the M.A. program in English or the M.Ed. program in secondary education (English) may schedule this course for one to three (1-3) credits in a given semester. Students will develop their own teaching philosophies, grounded in the study of composition theory and pedagogy. Whether teaching writing at the elementary, secondary, or post-secondary level, students will be well-informed of the challenges and possibilities of developing literacies and equipped to create their own writing assignments in the classroom. As a 400-level course, both undergraduates and graduate students may take this class.
