Designed to introduce the student to the evolution of the safety profession through study of historical events and the changes that resulted. Students gain an understanding of the key components of the profession such as OSHA and workers' compensation, accident investigation, occupational health hazards, emergency response, product liability, ergonomics, fleet safety, ethics and measuring safety program success. Case studies and small group activities prepare students for further in-depth study of these topics an to fulfill their roles as professionals.
