  This course consists of a CBT and Hands-on component. Intended for experienced service technicians, this course covers methods of operation and procedures for diagnosis of both GM audio systems and video entertainment systems. Systems covered include AM/FM/XM antennas, lead-in cables, integral receivers, remote components including receivers, control heads, tape players, CD, DVD, and VHS video players, and Steering Wheel Controls (SWC). Diagnosis and correction of audio systems, noise conditions, and video system malfunction are also covered.

  Focuses on the types, characteristics, and operation of manual and electronic shift transfer cases as well as the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vicsous clutch style transfer case. Some diagnostic practices are also described in this course. Upon completion of this course the technician is able to identify the characteristics of the viscous and mechanical/electronic transfer cases. Diagnose using the SBD process. Diagnose a transfer case using an operational test. Diagnose using sympton-based diagnostics.

Participants will have the opportunity to disassemble the 2.5L LCV engine, inspect its components, and learn proper cleaning techniques. Participants will also learn how to prepare the engine for reassembly, and also learn proper reassembly procedures.
