This course will encourage students to explore personal investigations of photographic production, critique, history and aesthetics. Students will demonstrate self-directed behavior relevant to professionalism and artistry. The course requires students to build a cohesive body of work with an integral emphasis on the photographic image, allowing students to supplement their technical and conceptual aptitude while developing a greater understanding of their placement in a larger historical context. Coursework will emphasize a high level of quantity, caliber and ambition to further articulate a professional portfolio. Through creative studio practice, students should develop a high degree of self-awareness and intrinsic motivation.
