    This is a course in magnetic radiographic patient care and imaging safety for certified technologists. Included are the principles of magnetic imaging for the patient, imaging technologist and medical team. Production and control of the magnetic field for scanning procedures and equipment techniques are studied.     Assigned to affiliate agencies, certified technologists perform all routine and advanced magnetic resonance procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist and certified Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan technologist. The student gains experience in imaging techniques, quality assurance, axial, coronal and sagittal sectional procedures. Clinical education assignments are made by faculty and students are responsible for their own transportation, parking and meals. This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.     This course is an overview of MRI Safety and screening of patients and personnel to comply with standards to protect individuals from potential and harmful magnetic field gradients. Equipment and implant precautions, assessing and monitoring patients, before, during and after contrast agents is introduced by medical application techniques. Life-threating situations are examined along with scanning methods related to patient care categories. This course is graded on a Pass/Fail basis. Completion of this course complies with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) structural education requirements and awards 16 Category A CEUs. Prerequisite:    Must be Certified Technologists in good standing recognized by the ARRT (www.arrt.org)

An additional eight hours are devoted to rehearsing and performing in a recital. Lessons focus on music reading, repertoire development and vocal or instrumental technique. Students are responsible for private lesson fees, which are not included in tuition. Students may be required to travel off campus for private lessons. Choice of vocal/instrumental study may be limited based on private instructor availability.

    This course focuses on the creation of a musical theatre ensemble, emphasizing vocal and dance techniques commonly found in musical theatre repertoire. Students participate in a variety of classroom activities designed to develop their vocal and dance skills including song interpretation, solo and ensemble rehearsals and staged performances.

    This course introduces students to the technologies used in music production. It covers Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) principles and techniques, as well as the computer applications and outboard equipment used by professional audio engineers. The software used in this class includes programs for audio editing, sequencing and score writing. Instruction is combined with practical application on a digital audio workstation.
