    In this course, students expand on the Spanish language skills learned in Elementary Spanish 1 as they continue improving their communicative abilities. Students deepen their listening, speaking, reading and writing proficiency through class activities and assignments. Additionally, students further their exploration of the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. The goal is for students to advance their vocabulary, grasp of grammar concepts and cultural understanding. It is recommended that within one academic year of completing this course, students enroll in the next level Spanish course (SPA 201) to continue practicing and enhancing their Spanish language skills. Prerequisite:    Completion of SPA 101 with a grade of C or better

    In this course, students build on the Spanish language skills developed in previous elementary levels. Students review essential grammar concepts from lower-level courses and are introduced to more complex grammatical structures. Throughout the course, students continue strengthening their listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities in Spanish. A significant focus is placed on cultural learning, as students explore and expand their understanding of diverse Spanish-speaking cultures. The goal is for students to progress their communication proficiency and cultural knowledge. It is recommended that within one academic year of completing this course, students enroll in the next level Spanish course (SPA 202) to maintain and augment their skills at the intermediate level. Prerequisite:    Completion of SPA 102 with a grade of C or better

    This is a two-part class. Part one provides Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification that is valid for two years. The course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid scenarios. Additional certifications earned in this course are scaffold users and fall protection. This second part of this class is a study of the social, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of the ironworkers' role in the labor movement. Emphasis is put on the Iron Workers Local #3 collective bargaining agreement.
