Covers beginning to intermediate Content Management System (CMS) development for web and mobile applications. Students are taught to perform a CMS installation, which includes themes, modules, and plugin development. Best practices for design and development of CMS applications are also presented. Prerequisite: WEB 110 with a grade of C or higher. Explores Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) standards and flexible grid systems for Web page layout and typography. Responsive web design automatically adapts to various screen sizes. This course specifically addresses the history, design, and selection of typefaces, fonts and letterforms, rapid prototyping of Web sites, and the creation of comprehensive Web page layouts (comps) for conversion to CSS, HyperText Markup Language (HTML), scalable design, and media elements.
