    Presents an overview of the principles of radiation protection, including the responsibilities of the radiographer for patients, personnel, and the public. This course incorporates radiation health and safety requirements with those of the federal and state regulatory agencies, accreditation agencies, and health care organizations. An overview of the principles involved in the interaction of radiation with living systems is also discussed, as well as the radiation effects on molecules, cells, tissues and the body as a whole. Factors affecting biological response are covered, including acute and chronic effects of radiation. This is a web-enhanced course with multi-media digital content.
