The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer. Other factors to consider are grades received in the courses, the year in which the course was taken, and the major pursued after transfer. In all instances, final decisions about acceptance of course credit will be made by Bucks County Community College.

If you complete the following at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania:

  • An introduction to college-level formats and research-based writing including thesis development, organizational strategies, and structure of arguments focused on purpose and audience. Students will learn to research topics and integrate research into their essays, using appropriate documentation and citations. Students will organize a portfolio of their writing that reflects writing processes they have learned. The distance Learning version of HEN112 English I to be offered as an "On-line" course in which more than 80% of the instruction will be completed outside of the classroom.

You may receive up to 3.00 credits at Bucks County Community College:

  • English Composition I emphasizes the systematic study of writing effective expository prose and argumentation, stressing development and support of a clear thesis. The focus of the course is to lay the foundation for future academic writing requirements, including the ability to analyze, synthesize, evaluate, summarize, paraphrase, and cite textual sources from required course readings.
