Description:
Introduces students to nursing practice emphasizing assessment of basic needs of individuals and families and providing nursing care based on the nursing process. Integration of knowledge and application of critical thinking into the primary care of the individual with acute and chronic health problems across the lifespan is stressed. Students begin to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes/values, and abilities to achieve end-of-program student learning outcomes. This course includes a clinical component of 6 hours per week.
