Provides scientific explanations for the physical basis of sound and music for a general audience.Topics will include: what comprises music versus noise, the biological interpretation of music, how sounds are made with different instruments, and digital aspects of modern music production and recording. Students will explore these ideas hands on by taking and interpreting data in active learning sessions embedded throughout the course.
