The work environment is a dynamic and ever changing place. Employers expect that their employees will possess both the technical and the interpersonal skills necessary to get the job done. Employees may work in teams, make presentations to clients, be responsible for keeping project managers informed on project progress, or interact with representatives from regulatory agencies. Thus, effective communication skills are an integral part of ensuring success in any job. In addition, a fundamental factor that will determine success in many industries is the ability to work within a team environment where conflict is expected. Understanding how to manage conflict and use it in a productive manner will help ensure that the team and the project is a success. This course will assist the student in developing the skills necessary to be an effective communicator and a valuable team member.
