Examines the background, perpetration, and memory of the systematic destruction of Europe's Jews and other minorities during the Second World War, commonly known as the Holocaust. Particular emphasis is placed on the history of Antisemitism in Europe, Social Darwinism, the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany, Nazi ideology, the carrying out of the murder of Europe's Jews, and the legacy of the Holocaust. If prerequisite courses are not met instructor approval is required.
