This course studies arithmetic for both integers and fractions, exponents, roots, linear and quadratic equations, factoring, rational expressions, modeling problems, and formula manipulations. Emphasis is on drill in computational algebra. The purpose of this course is to prepare students in math-intensive majors for further studies in college algebra, trigonometry, or calculus. Not open to students who have a math placement level of 4 or higher (whether by testing or successful completion of prior coursework).
