This course introduces respiratory care students to the fundamental concepts of respiratory care and introduces them to the professional role and practice setting. This includes patient assessment, cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, common treatment modalities, and infection control procedures and practices. Role-related interdisciplinary communication and professionalism will be introduced. This course includes didactic instruction, laboratory skill practice and clinical learning environment. This course includes 120 hours of clinical instruction. Restricted to Respiratory Care Students.
