Description:
An introduction to mathematical modeling using linear, exponential, and power functions and systems of equations with applications to the earth, life, social, and management sciences. Algebraic and geometric techniques are developed, including Linear Programming and Difference Equations. Mathematical topics necessary for success as a student of Applied Algebraic Methods, such as numbers, intervals, scientific notation, order of operations, inequalities, percent, graphing, and linear functions, are covered. Students may not receive credit for MATH 129 and MATH 130. This course may not be applied to a Mathematics major.
