This course focuses on helping students learn the principles and value of information design, with an emphasis on creating effective data visualizations for technical writing contexts. Students will learn strategies for acquiring, processing, and interpreting data, as well as how to create a variety of visualizations that connect with specific audiences. Special attention will be paid to making visualizations by writing code and using open source software to aid in data collection and design.
