This course focusing on advanced conducting techniques focuses on extensive score study, relevance of instrument basics such as string techniques and bowing, woodwind, brass, and percussion technique. Honing of gestures that reflect this deepened understanding of instrumental scores is addressed. A strong emphasis is placed on rehearsal technique, error detection, interpretation, and treating music as sound and art.
