Description:
This course develops information literacy skills, with a focus on research-based writing. Building on English 101, this course emphasizes critical and ethical analysis of popular and scholarly writing, in addition to inquiry-based research. Students develop other crucial research skills,particularly: using technology to conduct primaryand secondary research, systematic evaluation,synthesis and documentation of sources, and critical thinking about the social, intellectual, and cultural frameworks through which evidence and conclusions are presented. Students produce multiple research-based writing assignmentstotaling 15 to 20 pages.
