Develops students' understanding of everyday life, customs, and social issues in Spain and Latin America. Speaking and listening comprehension exercises in Spanish are supplemented by current primary sources in a communicative context. Anticipated proficiency upon successful completion of the course is the Intermediate-High sublevel (based upon the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages).
