Provides the theoretical knowledge base for social work practice. The course emphasizes the bio-psycho-social development patterns of individuals, families, and groups as they interact in various environments. Theories of human behavior pertaining to individuals and families are critically reviewed. The course looks at the policy and research implications of human behavior in social environments. The course is designed for graduate level social work students. Instructional methods may include but are not limited to lectures, readings, papers, reflections, and role plays.
