Provides a comprehensive examination of the sampling and analysis of arterial blood and the interpretation of test results. This course covers clinical issues pertaining to acid-base balance, oxygenation, blood gases, and noninvasive blood gas measurements. The student will develop a comprehensive understanding of blood gas interpretation with definitive analysis of oxygenation, acid- base, and ventilation in stable/critical patient situations.
