Provides students with the knowledge regarding the scientific basis of sports nutrition and its application of sports nutrition. Learning topics include sports nutrition concepts, digestion, absorption, and metabolism of nutrients, energy expenditure and energy metabolism during various types of exercise, diet recommendations during training/competition based on sport, meal recommendations, use of supplements and ergogenic aids, and special recommendations for groups of athletes.
