Provides the fundamentals of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of drugs across the lifespan affecting all body systems. Prescribing and monitoring procedures for various disease states are presented. Classification of pharmaceuticals, indications for use, and drug efficacy are reviewed. Rationales for drug therapy based on the physiologic factors of disease processes and drug mechanisms will be discussed. Adverse reaction, interactions, nutritional, developmental problems, and health status will be explored. Legality of prescriptive privileges, and patient teaching are addressed.
