Provides students with the opportunity to develop a structure for listening experiences in the Rock, Jazz, and Popular Music genres. The unique characteristics of each genre will be explored. Includes exploration of the similarities and differences within the cultures and sub-cultures from whence the genres have sprung; the borrowing from genre to genre which have taken place; and the musical integrity and structural strengths within each genre today.
