Introduces students to a wide variety of music from a variety of cultures and environments. Enables students to develop broader intellectual and aesthetic perspectives on music that is not from their own culture(s) and environment(s) through interactions that include listening, analyzing, and interpreting. Encourages students to consider musical factors and interactions among cultures, use appropriate and authentic sources for musical considerations, and understand interrelationships among multiple perspectives when exploring music of the world.
