Examines literary devices such as point of view, irony, allusion, and symbolism as well as rhetorical strategies to achieve a richer understanding. Provides legal, historical, and political context as necessary to discern the intention of the author, establish the characteristics of trials, contracts, wills, and other law-related concepts in literature, and compare them with contemporary legal climate.
