Introduces basic health issues, emphasizing the development of health literacy skills to enhance students' efficacy in reaching and maintaining a lifestyle conducive to health and wellness for themselves and the community. A foundation of health content will be introduced to serve as a basis for further study in the following topic areas: stress management, sexuality, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, injury prevention, weight management, nutrition, exercise, and infectious and chronic disease.
