A survey of world history from the early modern period to the present. Its central focus is the gradual integration of diverse populations in global context. Students consider the construction of historical periodization from a multi-cultural perspective while examining a variety of themes that illuminate the interaction of cultures through conflict and cooperation. While providing a general historical background, it will engage with critical debates on the interpretation of World History that surpasses Euro-centrism.
