Description:
Explores migratory education though field- and activity-based learning and teaching experiences with migrant learners. Students are placed in classrooms with mentor teachers to plan/teach thematic lessons in all content areas. Students will identify and implement research-based and culturally relevant instructional practices to assist linguistically diverse learners to reach their academic, social/emotional potential. Students will enhance their cultural knowledge and cultural competence through community outreach, teaching, focused reflections, and engagement with migrant learners and their families.
