Description:
Examines the historical, theoretical, and developmental foundations for young children, birth to 4th grade. This course provides an orientation to early education of young children; topics include the history of education, school law, ECE programs, current issues, families, and community. This course is designed to meet the standards for the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Students will be required to complete 10 hours of Stage 1 Field Experience.
