Introduces students to the empirical research process in the field of communication studies. Students learn the basics of empirical research including the planning of studies, quantitative designs, qualitative designs, nonparametric/parametric data analysis, interpretation of results, and scientific measurement of variables. This course also introduces students to the process involved in critically evaluating and reporting on empirical research.
